Tackling anti-social behaviour, nuisance vehicles and drug-related crime

Your Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to focus on the priorities identified by local communities:

Nuisance vehicles in Dogsthorpe:

Officers continue to assess reports relating to nuisance vehicles and are carrying out activity to address community concerns.

This quarter, officers have undertaken speed checks in a number of locations, including Sycamore Avenue. No offences were identified during these checks, but monitoring of the area remains ongoing.

Anti-social behaviour in Central Park: 

Neighbourhood officers have continued to focus patrols and engagement activity in and around Central Park.

Following multiple reports of a vehicle repeatedly speeding in the area late at night, officers witnessed the offending during patrols and stopped the car. The vehicle was subsequently seized after it was found to be uninsured.

The team has also held two community street surgeries in Central Park this quarter, alongside regular foot patrols aimed at engaging with residents and park users, listening to concerns and providing reassurance.

Drug use and dealing in Eastfield: 

Tackling drug-related crime remains a priority across the district, with officers carrying out regular foot and vehicle patrols in Eastfield.

Recently, a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and enquiries remain ongoing.

In addition, a shop linked to drug dealing and anti-social behaviour was closed for three months following a successful application for a Closure Order. The action followed the arrest of three people on suspicion of drug supply offences.

Officers are also working with residents, housing providers and Peterborough City Council to secure a further Closure Order for a property in Whitsed Street, helping to address ongoing concerns within the community.
